I act romantic roles with seriousness & my hubby understands

Tall, sexy and creative, Chika Ike-Ebireri joined Nollywood five years ago as an undergraduate. Luck smiled on her and she became a household name. Blessed with a husband, who doesn’t complain about her busy schedule and her romantic roles in movies, Chika loves life and all the good things of life. In an interview with Daily Sun, she confessed that marriage is not a bed of roses, although she enjoys hers. Excerpts:

How did you meet your husband?
“I met him just like every lady meets her soulmate. You can meet your soulmate anywhere, but I met him while I was at the University of Lagos where he came to broker some business deals. He hails from Sapele, Delta State. We got to know each other better after our first meeting. It took us time to finally come to terms with what we feel for each other. We have been married for three years now.”

Face of Africa: Why I won the prize, by Lukando

Zambian born Lukando Nalungwe, who shocked the world penultimate Saturday when she emerged the 6th winner of the M-Net sponsored Face of Africa competition has attributed her success to her persistence to be a part of the competition.

According to her revelation, she started participating in the competition at the age of 17 years. Since then, she has not relented in her effort to make her dream come through.

“In Nigeria, an album is a business card”

We know how quickly artistes move from releasing one album to the next these days. The average life span of a Nigerian released album is perhas 15 to 18 months before a new one breaks out.
Now, this is regardless of the listing of the artiste: A list, A plus, B plus plus… Here Bankole Wellington aka Mr Capable, explains that an album is not worth more than a business card in the Nigerian system.

How do you come about your songs?
The way I work when I’m making albums is simply to tell the experiences that I have been through and to tell whatever is on my mind and heart at that time. In Mr. Capable, I had to pick from over 20 songs that I had at that time. I had to figure out what fits into the content of the album.
