How it gets this way still beats me. For peace to reign I shall excuse myself from the ‘rofo-rofo fight’ and implore voters to desist from threatening one another because of the choices they make. My God! This is a quest not the accursed civil war!
Wow! A whole 5,130 votes came in even though only 4,902 were treated as legitimate while 228 were discarded for the usual reason of multiplicity. Jim Iyke shot back to lead this week with 1,862 votes, followed closely by Desmond who raked in 1,714 votes and Emeka Ike toeing his usual place of third with 1,326 votes. Desmond Elliot Intriguing enough, the week was Emeka’s best since the beginning of this quest but it seems to have come at the wrongest of times when the battle has really got intense between Jim and Desmond. Two weeks ago, he would have led the week with such a score, but for Jim and Desmond’s to-the-death battle stand.
Now, the stand remains Jim Iyke 1st with a total score of 10,990. Desmond 2nd with a gross total of 9, 845 and Emeka Ike with the sum of 7,633 votes at the 3rd place. Anyway, warm up for the final voting week before the next quest. Jim Iyke 1. The truth is clear that Jim is the sexiest even from his outward appearance, the way he smiles and his sexy eyes make him the sexiest. He is every woman’s dream, I wish I could see him one day at least to appreciate the work he has done in Nollywood. Read more...

Although you appear in home videos as well as television series, you seem to be more at home with the latter…
I am at home with both. This is my job. This is my life. I love being in front of the camera. I love making people happy. So, it is not a question of whether I am more at home with one form or the other. As long as it is drama, I am ready to do it. I would have loved to do more of stage, but age is telling more on me, and the stress of stage play is more.

What lesson has MTV Base learnt from the outcome of the MAMA awards that was held recently? MTV has learnt a lot from the fallout of the MAMA show. We took on a big project. It was quite an ambitious project and a lot of things happened. We have learnt other ways of doing certain things. We have learnt how to approach things from different angles.

In this interview with Aramide Pius, she speaks on her career, how she copes with single parenthood as well as her challenges on the job, among many issues. Enjoy:
You’re a mother, are you a wife? You didn’t mention that you’re a wife. No. No. I didn’t mention I’m a wife. But I’m a mother. Can you please explain that, how can you be a mother without being a wife? We have people that are mothers and not wives, you know. I’m a mother, that’s all. Is it a normal thing not to be a wife and be a mother? It should be. It should be. Then what’s going on about you? I’m just a mother, a great mother, but not a great wife. I’m not a wife, but I’m a great mother. You don’t want to say anything about your marriage? No. You can’t push me down there. You can’t even box me into the corner. I’m just a mother. They say you’re the first female comedian in Nigeria? Is it true? I don’t know. But you claim it yourself. Because I know it. Why do you say you’re the first female comedian?
 Mandy Uzonitsha Because I’m the first Nigerian lady ever seen doing stand-up. And you see when people talk, like in abroad, they talk with statistics, with points, reasons, this one did this in so-so-so year, etc. And thank God, if I say I’m the first, I have a proof. Why? The first time we had the first ever Ayo Animashun’s Girls’ Nite Out was the first time we had all the girls in the industry performing under one roof. The ones that were into sound were on the console, those that were behind cameras, and it was like that, everybody was doing something. If you were not on stage, you were off it. They were looking for a stand-up comedian and they wanted to get Binta Ayo-Mogaji who stays in Ibadan to crack jokes. I went there to do my normal Afro beat or my reggae. They kept looking for a female comedian. I remembered that in that same year, February 14, 1999, I had done something for Bacchus Lite. I was the MC, and I was just cracking jokes unknown to me that that was stand-up comedy. So, at Girls’ Nite Out, when they said it was important, I told them I could do it and I brought the house down. Do you feel justified being the first, when it seems that Princess is more visible than you? But that’s where we make a lot of mistakes. There are places Princess is needed and places Mandy is needed, just like Ali Baba and Basket Mouth. Where Ali goes, Basket Mouth doesn’t. I’ve been lucky in the jobs I’ve done. I’m not talking about peanut jobs here. I’m talking about doing one job and resting. I don’t hustle for jobs. Read more...

Nobody forgets easily any of her famous roles either as a wicked mother in-law or step mother. And she is quick to tell you she accepts such roles to expose the wicked. But is Mama G only good at playing wicked roles? She gives the answer and a lot more. Enjoy;
You’re all smiles this morning, what’s up? As you can see, I’m feeling great. How do you feel being the first ever Face of Nollywood Award winner?I feel honoured and happy. I give God all the praise because I would not have been able to achieve a thing like that on my own. Knowing also that this award was given to me by my fans makes me very happy and loved. When your name was mentioned that day, the whole crowd stood up to honour you, how exactly did you feel at that point?
 Patience Ozokwor At the very point my name was mentioned as the winner, I felt goose pimples all over me and I just went on my knees to praise God. When the voting was going on, I wasn’t aware so I didn’t even vote for myself and didn’t tell my people to vote for me. In fact when my name was mentioned among the last three, I told myself that at worst I’ll go home with the last prize. I’m very grateful to my fans out there knowing that they love me so much not minding who I am or where I come from. In your opinion, what attributes can you say earned you this award? I don’t know, may be my fans will answer that question better. Sometimes people call me and say that I act so well and real, but I don’t get carried away by those comments. It only makes me know that people are watching my movies which means that a lot more is expected of me. Read more...
